It’s not every day that you see a six-foot painting of a Taco. Allow me to explain…

Celia Macdonald is a senior student from the Lambton Kent District School Board who participated in one of the four High Performing Student seminars in the spring of 2021. Over the four days of the program, she and her classmates were encouraged to create a vision, set goals, create routines, and begin realizing the impact of small, consistent actions.

During the second day of the program, the students set their own goals and learn about the four goal-setting rules, one of which is “telling other people.” Often when setting goals, we forget how important this step can be. Students are encouraged to remember that they never know how someone else can help them if they’re brave enough to share their dreams and goals.

What happened next was a perfect example of this…

As the class began sharing their goals and dreams, Celia shared that one of her goals was to sell her paintings. She had been painting for years and recently started an art page on Instagram where she listed her work for sale. I was intrigued and asked to see some of her paintings, and while still on the call, she shared a few pieces with the camera.

Immediately impressed, I committed to purchasing a painting to support her goals while also bringing to life an idea I had about a giant taco. More on the giant taco on another post 🙂

Celia began the project…

It began as a blank sheet of plywood.

But with Small, Consistent Actions, it began turning into art.

Being someone’s taco is all about small acts of kindness.

Now, this painting will come to every school we speak in and will be signed by thousands of students.

You truly never know who can help you or support your goals and dreams. I hope that Celia will never forget these moments and continues fearlessly chasing her dreams of being an artist. At any given moment we are one person away from changing our life…
